About LUESTUDIO
LUESTUDIO creates sculptural objects that exist between art, design and everyday life. Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted form, embracing material, transformation and time as essential parts of the creative process. Designed to be worn for years, every object evolves with the person who wears it.
Philosophy & Process
MATERIAL
Every object begins with material. Heat and time change its surface, making transformation part of the final form.
PROCESS
Rather than working digitally, every piece begins as a hand-sculpted and bronze-infused ceramic prototype. It is fired at extremely high temperatures, allowing the material to break and its characteristic marks to emerge before being cast in metal.
TIME
Jewellery is designed to evolve. Patina, wear and everyday use become part of the object, creating a personal story.
ARTEFACT
LUESTUDIO creates sculptural objects for the body. Each piece exists at the intersection of art, design and everyday life.
Made to Order
At LUESTUDIO, every object is created with intention. Made only after it has been ordered, each piece is individually crafted and finished by hand before beginning its life with its owner. It is a slower, more considered way of making. One that values quality, individuality and a lasting connection over quantity.
Carina Lue
“Jewellery is a continuation of my sculptural practice.”
— Carina Lue
The artist behind LUESTUDIO
Carina Lue founded LUESTUDIO in Berlin in 2024. Trained in Fine Arts at HFBK Hamburg under Thomas Demand, she brings a sculptor’s sensibility to jewellery, drawing on architecture, cities, travel and the ancient practice of molybdomancy.
Named after her surname, LUESTUDIO is an independent extension of her artistic practice. Through wearable objects, Carina seeks to bring art closer to everyday life, creating a personal connection between the object and the person who wears it.
Sustainability
Position
Quality, continuity and a lasting connection to each piece are at the heart of LUESTUDIO.
Each piece has a patina-infused finish that develops uniquely with the person who wears it. Designed to become more beautiful over time, these objects are made to be worn, lived with and valued.
Longevity
Pieces crafted from unplated 935 silver and raw bronze develop individual surfaces through use, allowing wear and patina to become part of their character. These materials can be restored, reworked and remade, giving each piece the potential for a lasting life.
Craftsmanship
Each piece is handmade. Through her fine arts studies and MFA-level training in sculpture, Carina developed a hands-on understanding of form, material and the traces of making.
She brings this sculptural perspective to the long tradition of jewellery making, shaping and finishing each object with attention to its individual character.
Local production
Each piece moves through prototyping, lost-wax casting and finishing. Prototyping and finishing take place in Carina’s studio in Germany, while casting is carried out by specialist workshops in Berlin or Pforzheim.
This brings her independent sculptural practice into dialogue with established local jewellery-making expertise.
Packaging & shipping
Each order is carefully packed in a natural jewellery box, with reusable components intended to be kept and used alongside your piece.
Shipments are consolidated where possible.
Authenticity
Custom works are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, including a serial number, provenance details and the artist’s signature.
FAQ
How do I find the right ring size?
Choose a well-fitting ring worn on the same finger and hand. Lay it flat and measure the inside diameter straight across the centre, in millimetres, from inner edge to inner edge. Do not include the metal rim. Compare the measurement with our ring size chart. LUESTUDIO ring sizes are given in US sizes.
We also recommend having your size professionally measured by a local jeweller.
How long will my piece take to create?
Each piece is made to order and usually takes 14 working days before dispatch. During periods of higher demand, it may take longer; we’ll let you know.
What if my ring doesn’t fit?
A local jeweller can assess whether it can be resized. If resizing isn’t possible, contact us via the Contact page before returning it to arrange store credit or a gift card.
How do I care for my jewellery?
Handle your jewellery with care and remove it during activities that could scratch, knock or damage it. Gently polish with a soft cloth and store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid harsh chemicals. For bronze pieces, Renaissance Wax can be used to help protect the patina.
Can I wear my jewellery in water?
We recommend removing your jewellery before showering or swimming. Avoid contact with liquids and harsh chemicals, including perfumes and cleaning products, to help protect its surface and finish.
How will my jewellery change over time?
Over time, your jewellery develops a beautiful individual patina that reflects everyday wear.
Will my piece look exactly like the photographs?
Each piece is handcrafted, so subtle variations in shape, texture and surface are part of its character. Patina also develops individually over time, which means your piece may differ slightly from the photographs and will continue to evolve with wear.
